Visit a Pumpkin Patch

One of the best ways to enjoy the fall season is to go to a local pumpkin patch. This is a fun activity to do with friends. You can choose a few pumpkins to take home to carve or look around their gift shop for other decorations and delicious fall treats like apple cider.

Enjoy Painting and Beer at a Local Brewery

For our tenants who are 21 or older, you may want to hang out at a local brewery like Sugar Moon Rising Missing Falls Brewery or Madcap BrewCo, where they will be hosting a painting and beer night. This is a fun fall activity to do with family, friends, or a significant other. You can enjoy some local brews while painting a picture that you can later use to decorate your home for fall.

Get Lost in a Corn Maze

Many times, farms that have pumpkin patches for you to explore will also have a corn maze. Whether you choose to visit Szalay’s Farm & Market, The Barn Corn Maze, Derthick’s Corn Maze, or another corn maze in the area, you are sure to have a fun night with family and friends.

Enjoy a Fall Festival

While many of the fall festivals have been canceled due to COVID-19, the Halloween Spooktacular Fall Festival in Eastlake seems like it will still take place at this time. At this festival, you can enjoy arts and crafts, entertainment, candy, contests with prizes, and more.

Get Scared at a Haunted House

A haunted house is a great way to get in the Halloween spirit and enjoy fall. The Spooky Ranch in Columbia Station is planning on being open this year with social distancing guidelines in place to keep everyone safe. They advertise five terrifying haunted attractions that are sure to please.

Take in a New Exhibit at a Museum

Enjoying some time outdoors as the weather cools is a perfect way to spend a fall day in Akron. However, for days when it’s a bit too cool to be outside, there is always the Transformer Station Museum. Their fall and winter exhibit will begin on September 18th and be up throughout most of January. You may even be able to get a free ticket to the exhibit by visiting their website.

Go for a Hike or Walk

Now that the warmer summer weather is starting to fade, it is a great time to start enjoying some hiking or walking outdoors in Akron. You can visit Cascade Valley Metro Park, Sand Run Metro Park, Hampton Hills Metro Park, or any other place you know around town that will provide you with a scenic view and some fresh air. Fall is the perfect time to enjoy some fresh air since the cold winter weather is only a couple of months away.
