At last, you’ve finally arrived at the point in the semester where you get some time off of classes. Considering that you’ve more or less worked nonstop throughout the fall semester (with the exception of a few long weekends here and there), an extended break from classes is a beautiful thing. Better yet, you’ll only have a few weeks of class left before you’ve wrapped up the fall semester in its entirety.
We can’t promise that finals week will be a walk in the park, but we can promise that taking a break over Thanksgiving will help you prepare for your upcoming academic battles. Whether you choose to leave your studying materials at our Akron apartments and take it easy with your friends and family or lock yourself away and study is, of course, completely up to you.
Our Akron Apartments Can Set You Up For A Great Rest Of The Semester
Most University of Akron students tend to find success by balancing studying and relaxing over Thanksgiving break, and generally speaking, that’s what the EnVision Apartments would recommend. So long as you’re resting, relaxing, and recovering over the break (and eating some truly incredible food!), you’re sure to come back swinging in December.
Here are a few practical ways that you can maximize your study time and still have a relaxing Thanksgiving break.
Read On Your Plane Ride
If you’re driving back home then we certainly don’t recommend studying at the wheel, but if you have a couple of hours to kill high in the sky, why not get a little ahead on studying? Doing some work before you get back home to see your family and friends is a great idea because you’re not distracted by the excitement of catching up with your loved ones and seeing them in person.
Until then, your mind may still be in “school mode,” so you may as well take advantage of that.
Consider Dedicating The Day Of Thanksgiving As A Family Day
If you only choose a single day not to study or do anything school-related, let it be the actual day of Thanksgiving. This is supposed to be a day of rest, relaxation, fun, and family time, not academic stress and cramming a bunch of knowledge into your brain.
Whether your plane ticket is provided by you or your folks, someone is paying for you to come out and spend some quality time with your family. That’s the entire point of Thanksgiving break, so enjoy it and spend it as it is meant to be spent.
Finals don’t fall on the week after break, so don’t freak out if you haven’t gotten as much done as you planned. In fact, it’s pretty common for most students to assume that they’re going to study for, say, a total of 15 hours over break, when in reality, they only study for about two hours. So long as you’re having a restful and relaxing time, that’ll be the most useful weapon in your academic arsenal upon coming back to Akron.
